The music video takes place in a desert and what seems to be the shack of a cowboy poet. The desert is Mojave, close to the border of Nevada, USA. The shack is actually in Denmark, in the music studio Techpoint, where most of the music is recorded. It was transformed into a desert shelter for the black man….

The new music video “She knows” features the talented voice and songwriting of Anne Christine Wold. The video has no actually script or manus.
It’s made by Mohavi himself, consisting of video clips from different projects.
For instance footage from the originally “the making of the album” was used and also handheld footage from an iPhone and outtakes from “Give me the gun”.

The video is directed and edited by Mohavi and much enjoyable!

The first single from the forthcoming album is “Death in the Afternoon”.

The new video was recorded/shot in Joshua Tree National Park in California and beside Mohavi you will witness a sculls head, wild dogs, a runaway train and the cactus Lophophora. We must warn you, this motion picture contains psychedelic scenes that some viewers may find disturbing.
But no cactus were harmed during the making of the movie.

Death in the Afternoon music video

First release and single: Death in the Afternoon

A new music video from Danish rock artist Mohavi, shot partly in Joshua Tree National Park in California and partly in Copenhagen.
The music style is retro rock and electronica with elements of Surf Music and references to Italian “spaghetti” western movies from the seventies as well as Spanish culture. The video is directed and edited by Mohavi himself. By the time, the video was shot, the music was’nt finished, so the whole thing was just improvised in the Joshua Tree Park, just using an old cheap camera. When the musical track was finished, some additional footage were done i Denmark.
A new album from Mohavi is released i October in Denmark and Mohavi is working in more videos, combining elements of rock, electronica in the music – as well as humour and kitch in the video!

DEBUT ALBUM FROM ELECTRONIC COWBOY

Retro-like guitar sounds, futuristic electronica and windy western landscapes mingles with surf guitar, robot voices and beautiful female voices on the debut album from Mohavi. Behind the name is a Danish music producer and guitarist, for the first time out with its own music, which is a unique and personal blend of past and future.

The album is mainly recorded in Copenhagen, but parts of the album have been recorded in London and Los Angeles. Mohavi plays the vast majority of the instruments on the 12 tracks, but has also been helped by Soren Balsner from Carpark North, which has been co-producer on a few tracks. Also contributing is the talented Anne Christine Wold, new Danish singer / songwriter, who is based in London and already has excited many people with her unique singing voice and crystal clear songs. Anne Christine Wold is involved in three of the tracks, which are written in a beautiful collaboration between the techno-cowboy and the female singer. In addition, Mohavi got help from producers, including DJ Henrik Hjarnø (aka Jox) and beats from drummer Adam Grønne.

The forerunner of the album was the track “Give Me The Gun”, which have long circulated on the social media with a video, recorded in Los Angeles. Now, the first official single and video “Death in the Afternoon” is released. The video is again recorded in the United States, this time in Joshua Tree National Park in California.

The music of Mohavi unfolds in a cross between Americana, Kitsch and Electronica and is clearly heard inspired by both David Lynch as Morricones movie music, classic Kraftwerk, techno and modern club music, which include due Mohavis unique application of an original vocoder, a Roland VP-300 from 1979.

The energetic musician has with the album created his own ballgame and style, which has been called “cowboy-techno” of the inner circle. The sound is retro, quirky and dusty. It is highly danceable music in a unique blend. The album also contains a few quieter numbers and here impresses Anne Christine Wold with her sensitive voice that convincingly slides into the guitarist great techno landscapes.

Mohavi has been in the Danish music scene for many years, but now makes his debut as a solo artist under the new name. Both as a producer and artist, he has left his strong mark on the entire process. Besides playing almost all instruments Mohavi has even directed and edited music videos and created artwork, graphics and visual design for the site and covers.

Bag navnet gemmer sig en dansk musikproducer og guitarist, der for første gang er ude med sin egen musik, der er en unik og personlig blanding af fortid og fremtid.

Albummet er hovedsagelig indspillet i København, men dele af albummet er blevet til i London og Los Angeles. Mohavi spiller selv størstedelen af instrumenterne på de 12 tracks, men har også fået hjælp af Søren Balsner fra Carpark North, der har været co-producer på et par numre. Desuden medvirker stortalentet Anne Christine Wold, ny dansk singer/songwriter, der med base i London allerede har begejstret mange med sin unikke sangstemme og krystalskrøbelige sange. Anne Christine Wold medvirker på tre af numrene, der er skrevet i et smukt samarbejde mellem techno-cowboyen og storbysangerinden. Herudover har Mohavi fået producerhjælp fra bl.a. DJ Henrik Hjarnø (aka Jox) og beats fra trommeslageren Adam Grønne.

Forløberen for albummet var tracket ”Give Me The Gun”, der allerede længe har cirkuleret på de sociale medier med en video, indspillet i Los Angeles. Nu er den første officielle single og video ”Death in the Afternoon” udkommet. Videoen er igen indspillet i USA, denne gang i Joshua Tree National Park i Californien.

Mohavis musik udspiller sig i et krydsfelt mellem americana, kitch og electronica og der høres tydelig inspiration fra såvel David Lynch som Morricones filmusik, klassisk Kraftwerk-techno og moderne klubmusik, hvilket bl.a. skyldes Mohavis unikke anvendelse af en original vocoder, en Roland VP-300 fra 1979.
Den energiske musiker har med albummet skabt sin helt egen boldgade og stilen er blevet kaldt ”cowboy-techno” af inderkredsen. Lyden er retro, skæv og skramlet. Det er overvejende dansabel musik i en unik blanding. Albummet indeholder også et par mere stille numre og her imponerer Anne Christine Wold med sin følsomme stemme, der på overbevisende vis glider ind i de guitaristiske technolandskaber.
Mohavi har været i det danske musikliv i mange år, men debuterer først nu som soloartist under det nye navn. Både som producer og artist har han sat sit stærke præg på hele processen. Udover at spille stort set alle instrumenter, har Mohavi har selv instrueret og klippet musikvideoerne og lavet artwork, grafik og visuelt design til hjemmeside og covers.

It’s still not decided, which track should be the first single. But it will probably be “Death in the Afternoon”, says Mohavi, since a video also almost is ready, with this track.

“It’s a energetic track, with a lot of influence from Spanish and Mexican music”, states Mohavi. “It’s also kind of noisy with power, almost like we had a bullfight in the studio!”
